Yoga ...
Yoga is a time-honoured practice putting together all aspects of who we are - the body, the energy we have, the mind and deeper aspects of ourselves. Yoga is a journey of awareness and discovery into body and mind. It provides a route to better health and means to uncover the essence and potential of who we are.
to discover potential through body and mind
to work with better health of mind and body
to reflect and meditate
is a way of living harmoniously

I trained to teach Yoga after years of attending classes, and I became interested in the viniyoga approach, which is both more individual and adaptive. Yoga to fit the person rather than the person having to fit into the yoga practice. I also became interested in yoga therapy, where yoga is adapted to an individuals specific health needs and intentions.
I’m a committee menber of The British Council for Yoga Therapy and was its Chair (2013-16). BCYT is the UK’s accrediting organisation for yoga therapy, consolidating and raising standards for yoga therapy. This ensures that yoga therapists meet high standards in their work through assessed training and I’ve been part of BCYT and supporting its work in Yoga Therapy for 20 years.
Yoga on a personal level means practising and finding the support of connection to inner awareness and the translation of that clarity into day-to-day life.
After more than a decade of working as a Yoga Therapist and knowing the complexity of this work, I am delighted to be now offering training to others, through Yoga Therapy Whole Person Healing. These courses offer theoretical and practical aspects of yoga therapy with highly experienced colleagues.
I am indebted to the excellent teachers that have inspired my learning and practice of Yoga. Special thanks to Paul Harvey, Ranju Roy, Jane Slemeck and Freda Sack in the tradition of viniyoga.
Viniyoga is based on the source teachings of TKV Desikachar and his father Krishnamacharya, who are both hugely influences on yoga. Both shared their view of yoga as a gift to humanity and transmitted that understanding widely through their work. I was fortunate to be able to learn with TKV Desikachar when he came to the UK - many years ago now, but unforgetable to be able to meet this hugely influential and yet humble teacher in person.
